A matter of "Live" and Death

Friday nights, 9pm have never been the same since the launch of SABC1s music show "LIVE".Generally, the show is well  received  with an estimated 7million people tuning in every Friday, this friday, though, was a bit different...
Due to the fact that The SABC owes RISA (Recording industry of South Africa) R28 mil.( see http://www.timeslive.co.za/local/article595735.ece/SABC-owes-R28m-royalties) they have been interdicted from flighting any music videos, hence the chaotic live performances and terrible attempts at lipsinking the pre-recorded performances.
Tv viewers were far from happy about the product Live was delivering, the tweets included:"Am I watching Live or JamAlley **confused**" and ."url are losin da market, check da tweets bout live 2nght!"

In their defence Live producer, Marvin Cohen ,said "Viewers never know. All viewers want is good tv" he added that getting Young Money's "TYGA" in to studio was a mission as they " had to go to the hotel and physically remove dudes from the hotel. Dude was sick didn't have a voice so he wasn't feeling performing and he literraly arrived at studio just in time to go on when he did."

Under the Circumstances Live is doing all they can but they must bare in mind that this is showbiz and the show MUST GO ON, the viewers don't give a damn what the circumstances are, all they want is a good show, and its up to them to make sure that happens.

Ready, Steady...SERRIE

We have waited quite a while to hit stellenbosch, with Tuks only having held their internal serrie last month, but the time has come!!!

As you may, or SHOULD know, MY res, Lebone has won this competition twice already, and this year is gonna be no different. What will be different though is the number of black boys (afslaan) in stellenbosch lol.
We leave on thursday the 2nd of September and I will be sure to bring you all the hot performances and not so hot performances, Gossip, and AMAAAAZING Cape Town parties...cant wait:)

My beginning...

I'm quite new at this blogging thing so please do forgive me...but with that said I'm just gonna jump straight into it.

So this past weekend was the much anticipated 'tyga' performance at Premium in Rivonia, but before his performance he had the liberty of gracing Live on Sabc1 with his presence. After arriving late and consequentely not being able to perform on the Live stage, he was described by Live presenter Bonang Matheba on twitter as "Small..(with a) dnt-give-a-damn demeanour..soft hand." If you ask me...he looks like a pale ANT!!

Nevertheless he did manage to make it to premium, where he was awaited by boys and gals alike, dressed to KILL!
It seemed to me the hype was more about the idea of an international artist being in South Africa and not so much about him or his music, because very few people could quote a tyga song or even hum it for that matter. So Young Money, can we have Weezy next please...thanks in advance!!!
